RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the attached Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution amends the 2017 - 2021 Capital Improvements Program, by increasing the Comegy’s Creek Hike and Bike Trail Project budget, PK4326, by transferring $90,000 from PK1213 Hike and Bike Trail Construction.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Comegy’s Creek Hike and Bike Trail Project (PK4326) is a FY16-17 Capital Improvements Project funded in an amount of $1,043,000.
• The FY 16-17 MCDC budget included a Hike and Bike Trail Construction project (PK1213) for use towards construction of nonspecific trail projects in an amount of $480,000.
• The Comegy’s Creek Hike and Bike Trail project was bid in a manner consistent with State Law.
• Five (5) bids were submitted on February 2, 2017 with the lowest construction bid coming in at $948,233.
• The ability to award the construction bid and utilize the funds available for this project is contingent on transferring the aforementioned funds into the Comegy’s Creek Hike and Bike Trail Project, PK4326, as noted in the Item Summary.
• An accompanying Resolution to enter into a construction contract is also on this agenda for Council’s consideration.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution amends the FY2016-2017 annual CIP budget and the 2017 - 2021 Capital Improvements Program, by transferring $90,000 of MCDC funding from the PK1213 Hike and Bike Trail Construction Project to the PK4326 Comegy’s Creek Hike and Bike Trail Project.
