ITEM SUMMARY:
• The By-Laws of the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) Board call for the election of a Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary
• Officers will be chosen from among the current members of the MUTD - the McKinney City Council, along with representatives from cities of Celina, Prosper, Princeton, Melissa, Lowry Crossing, and the Collin County Commissioners Court
• At this time, Collin County Commissioner’s Court and the Town of Prosper do not have representatives to the Board
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The McKinney Urban Transit District was created pursuant to Chapter 458 of the Texas Transportation Code as a political subdivision of the State of Texas and the City of McKinney is a home rule municipal corporation
• The City of McKinney and the McKinney Urban Transit District both have statutory authority to enter into an Interlocal Agreement outlining the rights and responsibilities of each party
