ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The City of McKinney authorized the formation of the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) Board on June 7, 2016, AI#16-581

                     The MUTD consists of the members of the McKinney City Council, along with representatives from cities of Celina, Prosper, Princeton, Melissa, Lowry Crossing, and the Collin County Commissioners Court

                     At this time, Collin County Commissioner’s Court and Town of Prosper do not have representatives to the Board

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     TxDOT is designated by the Governor of Texas as the Direct Recipient of funds for small, urban areas of between 50,000 and 200,000 people

                     Texoma Area Paratransit Service (TAPS) suspended transit operations to the City of McKinney in December 2015

                     As the Direct Recipient, TxDOT and the City of McKinney executed a Master Grant Agreement on behalf of the McKinney Urban Transit District for grant funds to provide transit service to the McKinney Urbanized Area (MUZA)

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     TxDOT will provide $312,000 for FY17 which can be used as match, along with local funds, to draw down FTA 5307 grant funds
