ITEM SUMMARY:
• Presentations will be provided for transit services to the McKinney Urban Transit District:
o Presentation by the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)
o Presentation by the Denton County Transit Authority (DCTA)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Under Chapter 452 of the Texas Transportation Code a Regional Transportation Authority may acquire, construct, develop, plan, own, operate, and maintain a public transportation system in the territory of the authority, including the territory of a political subdivision.
• A Regional Transportation Authority may also contract with a municipality, county, or other political subdivision for the authority to provide public transportation services outside the authority.
