* Approval of the attached Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution amends the 2017-2021 Capital Improvements Program, by increasing the Craig Ranch Parkway Hike and Bike Trail Project budget PK4413, by transferring $270,000 from PK1213 Hike and Bike Trail Construction.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Craig Ranch Parkway Hike and Bike Trail Project (PK4413) is a FY16-17 Capital Improvements Project funded in an amount of $350,000.
* The FY 16-17 MCDC budget included a Hike and Bike Trail Construction project (PK1213) for use towards construction of nonspecific trail projects.
* The scope of work was increased during design to accommodate the need for a retaining wall to meet ADA standards on the hike and bike trail and to accommodate Engineering's request to include a pedestrian signal pole and crosswalk with this project.
* The crosswalk and signal will be funded from TR1620 Traffic Signal Construction Project in an amount of $63,000.
* Eight bids were submitted on March 9, 2017 with the lowest construction bid coming in at $621,052.50.
* The ability to award the construction bid and utilize the funds available for this project is contingent on transferring the aforementioned funds into the Craig Ranch Parkway Hike and Bike Trail Project, PK4326, as noted in the Item Summary.
* An accompanying Resolution to enter into a construction contract is also on this agenda for Council's consideration.
