• Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The new municipal complex, CIP project number FC1707 requires funding for design, architectural and engineering services in conjunction with programming, and master planning.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Due to growth of the City and widespread City facilities the decision was made by Council to pursue construction of a new municipal complex.
• In 2008, the City commissioned a needs assessment study. That same study was updated in 2011.
• On February 22, 2016, Council announced that for the strategic goal of Operational Excellence a timeline for a new Municipal Complex / Downtown Parking should be established.
• In a companion agenda item an architectural and engineering team is being recommended to provide the programming and master planning for these facilities.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The budget for the project shall be created by appropriating $336,800 from the Facilities Construction Fund balance to CIP project number FC1707 for the project’s architectural and engineering services in conjunction with the programming and master planning services.
