RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCI ACTION:
* Conduct a public hearing under FY 2016-2017 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for funding approval and approve Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* Collin County Committee on Aging requested funding to assist with roof repair, including energy efficiency at their public facility site, located at 600 N. Tennessee Street.
* The Community Grants Advisory Commission held a public hearing on April 10, 2017 and deliberated to make funding recommendation to City Council of $40,000 for the project. Funding is under the current budget through the City's Community Development Block Grant.
* Funding requests are reviewed and considered in accordance with the Strategic Plan goals expressed in the Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan; federal and statutory and program requirements; service impacts to the community; past performance, as applicable; duplication of exact services from other agencies; other sources of agency funding and presentation critique, as applicable.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Funding under the request is under the current CDBG funding allocation for FY 2016-2017 (October 1, 2016 - September 30, 2017) for Public Facilities in the amount of $150,000. Funding was approved by City Council on August 1, 2016 (Agenda item 16-755). This is the first application for use of funding under the category of Public Facilities during the reporting period.
