RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

* Approval of the Ordinance.

ITEM SUMMARY:

* Consider a budget amendment to allocate funding for the provision and administration of the Collin County Transit Program for the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD).

* Funding for the program is provided through TXDOT grant funds and local contributions.

* The TXDOT grant agreement was executed on April 17, 2017.

* At the March 7, 2017 meeting, City Council approved an Interlocal Agreement between the City of McKinney and McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) outlining the responsibilities of each party. Per the agreement, the City of McKinney is responsible for administering the transit program for the MUTD.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

* The budget for the provision and administration of transit service for the McKinney Urban Transit District is $470,934.

* The annual budget includes funding for a Transit Administrator position.

* Transit Administrator duties include: completing reimbursement requests from TXDOT, monitoring program delivery and contract compliance, tracking revenues and expenditures, tracking and communicating MUTD member transit usage monthly, promoting the transit program, insuring customer satisfaction with program and acting as a liaison between service provider and customer, as necessary, working with DCTA to resolve any service issues.
