RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a professional services contract with Studio Outside Landscape Architecture to provide landscape architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the Scott Elementary Neighborhood Park project in a contract amount of $171,250 and design budget not to exceed $181,250.
* Scope of Services:
o Planning and Design $149,190
o Construction Observation $ 19,800
o Reimbursable Allowance $ 2,260
o Contingency $ 10,000
Total $181,250
* Studio Outside has agreed to pick the contract up where the RVI contract terminated. Lisa Horne will continue to be the lead design consultant for this project.
* Staff feels entering into a contract with Studio Outside would be the best transition to completing the construction documents for this project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The City entered into a professional service contract with RVI Planning and Landscape Architecture, Inc. in October 2016.
* Lisa Horne, the lead design consultant with RVI led several public input meetings and has provided a conceptual plan for the site and is ready to develop the construction documents for the project.
* Lisa Horne informed the City on April 14, 2017 that RVI had closed their Dallas office. She has taken a new position at Studio Outside.
