RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an amended architectural services contract with McCaslin Associates in order to perform additional interior design services and commissioning agent services as required by International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) related to the MNA Hangar Renovation Project.
* The original contract was first authorized by City Council on March 7, 2017.
* Based on recent design changes requested by Toyota Motors North America (Tenant), additional interior design services are needed.
* To carry out these additional services, Staff has reached an agreement with McCaslin Associates.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Tenant requested to expand the existing hangar at McKinney National Airport.
* Tenant has signed a new 10 year lease with the City of McKinney.
* On March 7, 2017, City Council approved a project scope and contract with McCaslin Associates for professional architectural and consulting engineering services for the McKinney National Airport Aircraft Hangar expansion.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The original architectural services contract with McCaslin included a lump sum fee amount not to exceed $513,228.
* The resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an amended architectural service contract with McCaslin Associates, Inc. for $559,423, which is an increase of $46,195 from the original contract amount, and to execute any necessary change orders with McCaslin Associates, Inc. for the completion of the McKinney National...
