RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Staff recommends approval of the proposed right-of-way abandonment.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Staff received a request to abandon a portion of an unnamed alley located on the east side of Waddill Street between White Avenue and Pearson Avenue.
• The right-of-way consists of a 10 foot right-of-way containing approximately 0.04 acres. The right-of-way is currently unimproved.
• A private driveway currently exists within this right-of-way. The applicant intends to incorporate the unimproved right-of-way into their property.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• An application and supporting documentation for the requested abandonment were submitted on April 10, 2017.
• No public utilities operate within the right-of-way and no easements are proposed to be retained on the requested abandonment.
• All owners adjacent to the right-of-way have signed a petition supporting the requested abandonment.
• Public hearing notices were sent to all property owners within 200 feet of the requested abandonment. As of June 8, 2017, staff has received no comments in support of or opposition to this request.
