RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $97,300, and all necessary supplemental agreements thereto, with BGE, Inc., to conduct an erosion study of the unnamed tributary of Wilson Creek through Glenwood Estates for an amount not to exceed $110,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* There is a natural creek running through the Glenwood Estates neighborhood between White Avenue and Bois D'Arc Road east of Hardin Boulevard that, like all creeks, is experiencing erosion. The City has installed erosion protection structures in this creek in the past.
* The rate of erosion in this creek is expected to increase as a result of new upstream development near Hardin Boulevard and US 380. Because of that, City staff recommends that a study be done to determine the future erosion potential and come up with alternatives to address it.
* BGE, Inc., has been selected to conduct this erosion study and has submitted a proposed scope and fee for this work.
* At a City Council meeting on March 3, 2014, BGE, Inc., was one of six firms deemed qualified for this type of work based on their response to 15-03RFQ for Miscellaneous Drainage and Floodplain Management Services. BGE was selected for this particular project based on their experience and knowledge of creek erosion issues.
