ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to contribute funding towards right of way acquisition for the Custer Road (FM 2478) Project in the amount of $684,901.70.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• TxDOT has agreed to participate in the acquisition of right-of-way to upgrade Custer Road (FM 2478) from a two lane asphalt road to a 4 lane (future 6 lane) divided concrete road.
• TxDOT will contribute 90 percent of the funds needed to acquire the right-of-way, and the City of McKinney will contribute the remaining 10 percent for properties located within McKinney’s city limits or ETJ.
• TxDOT will acquire all of the property needed for the project.
• The costs in this agreement include roadway right of way acquisition and easements for utility adjustments for properties located within McKinney’s city limits or ETJ.
• The total cost of the right-of-way acquisition is $6,849,017.00; therefore, the City of McKinney’s 10 percent contribution is $684,901.70.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for this agreement will be included in the Capital Improvements Program Project ST9115 with the start of Fiscal Year 2017-18 on October 1, 2017.
• With the approval of this item, approx. $15,000 will remain in project ST9115.
