SUMMARY:

On June 15, 2017 the City of McKinney was presented an American Public Works Association (APWA) Texas Chapter Project of the Year Award at their annual conference.

The award was for the “Rehabilitation of NRCS Floodwater Retarding Structure 2A East Fork above Lavon (EFAL)”.

This project is part of the City’s ongoing NRCS lakes rehabilitation program which to date has seen the successful completion of eight projects.  The ninth is currently under design.

The APWA Texas Chapter Public Works Project of the Year Award was established to promote excellence in the management and administration of public works projects by recognizing the alliance between the managing agency, the consultant/architect/engineer, and the contractor who, working together, complete public works projects.

Presenting the award is Spencer Maxwell, PE, PTOE, Awards Committee Chair, APWA Texas Chapter.
