RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes a construction contract with North Rock Construction, LLC. to provide construction services for the Hike and Bike Trail Handrails in an amount not to exceed $108,678.72 which includes the base bid of $98,778.72 and a contingency amount of $9,900.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City issued Invitation to Bid 17-52CC Hike and Bike Trail Handrails on May 25, 2017.

                     Out of 691 supplier notifications, one (1) bid was received on June 15, 2017.

                     North Rock Construction, LLC. has submitted a bid in the amount of $98,778.72 for the construction project.

                     North Rock Construction, LLC. is a North Texas construction firm with corporate offices located in Denton, TX.  Recent North Rock Construction projects in the City of McKinney include construction of McKinney Downtown Parking Lot #1 (MDPL-1) and McKinney Downtown Parking Lot #2 (MDPL-2), Comegy’s Creek Hike & Bike Trail, Wilson Creek Hike & Bike Trail and Sonntag Neighborhood Park.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funding for this construction project is currently budgeted in the Surface Water Drainage department account.
