ITEM SUMMARY:
• Sanchez and Associates has approached the City and offered to spearhead the effort to raise matching funds necessary for the design and creation of a public art mural or mosaic.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The mural will be located on the parking garage to be located at the corner of Virginia and Chestnut (Chestnut Parking Garage).
• A public art subcommittee will be appointed by the Arts Commission to issue an RFQ and recommend an artist and design to the City Council.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The total cost of the project will not exceed $40,000.
• $20,000 of those funds will come from the Public Art Fund. The remaining $20,000 will be raised from private sources.
