ITEM SUMMARY:
• The following suggested changes have been incorporated into the attached Policy on Board and Commission Member Appointment and Eligibility:
o Changing the terms for all Board and Commission members to two (2) years.
o Changing the maximum number of years of service to three (3) full terms.
o Providing for staggering the two (2) year terms.
o All applications are valid for one (1) year from receipt by the City Secretary’s office after which time the application(s) will be considered lapsed.
o Adding an application deadline of the third Friday in June of each year.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City Council adopted and amended the policy on Board and Commission Member Appointment and Eligibility on July 21, 2009, August 17, 2009, May 24, 2010, June 15, 2010, October 4, 2011, June 4, 2013, September 17, 2013, September 14, 2014, June 8, 2015, July 21, 2015, August 3, 2015, December 1, 2015, September 20, 2016, and February 7, 2017.
