ITEM SUMMARY:
• Residents are requesting that transit service be expanded to include Saturdays.
• Saturday taxi services would be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• In accordance with Title VI, On-Demand services would also be available on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• On-Demand requests are made 24 hours in advance and taxi service requests can be made 2 hours in advance.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Residents with disabilities and/or senior citizens residing within one of the participating jurisdictions of the McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) may receive subsidized (75%) taxi service.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• It is anticipated that expanding transit services to include Saturdays would have very little financial impact.
