Summary

COUNCIL GOAL:                     Enhance the Quality of Life in McKinney

MEETING DATE:                     August 30, 2017

DEPARTMENT:                      Housing and Community Development

CONTACT:                       Anthony Cao, Transit Administrator

ITEM SUMMARY:

At the April 5, 2017 McKinney Urban Transit District (MUTD) meeting, the Board directed staff to research options for providing increased subsidies to low-income seniors and persons with disabilities.

Staff is seeking direction from the MUTD on what criteria to use to provide an additional subsidy and at what amount.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Taxi service for seniors and persons with disabilities, within the MUTD, is currently subsidized at 75%.

For the lowest income individuals, this still presents a cost burden.
