BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Gray Branch is a 212 acre community park located along Wilson Creek, south of US380 and along both sides of Gray Branch Road.

The property was previously master planned in 2012, however since that time an additional 112 acres have been acquired.

The original master plan included soccer, lacrosse and cricket fields, parking, indoor/outdoor recreation center, trails, restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, sand volleyball, amphitheater and trails.

The new master plan is anticipated to have many of the same amenities, but with the added property the layout and numbers of amenities provided could substantially change.

Also included that was not part of the original plan is the possibility of a regional scale soccer complex, a maintenance area and a food truck concession area.

This master planning process will also include a traffic impact analysis study to evaluate access points and hydraulic and hydrology services as a majority of the property is located within the 100 year floodplain.

The scope of services includes up to four public meetings with the stakeholders, sports associations and general public.

Schrickel, Rollins and Associations, Inc. is the same firm who designed the 2012 master plan.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The Gray Branch Master Plan (PK2206) is a FY17-18 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC.
