ITEM SUMMARY: 

 

  • Council member Branch and Council member Philips requested an amendment to the designated area for electioneering at the John and Judy Gay Library.
  •  
  • On October 17, 2017, the City Council adopted Ordinance 2017-10-095 Amending Chapter 38, “Elections,” of the Code of Ordinances of the City of McKinney, Texas, Article IV, “Electioneering,” by repealing and replacing in its entirety Sections 38-70 through 38-74.
  •  
  • The proposed Ordinance only amends the Designated Area in Exhibit A of Ordinance 2017-19-095 and replacing it with Exhibit 1 for the John and Judy Gay Library. 
  •  
  • There are two options identified by staff as alternatives to consider - Option 1 and Option 2 (attached).
