RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Alliance Geotechnical Group to provide materials testing services during the construction of Pearson Avenue and Related Drainage Improvements (Waddill Street to Kentucky Street) Project, for an amount not to exceed $55,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* A concurrent item is included on the Council Agenda recommending award of a construction contract for the Pearson Avenue and Related Improvements (Waddill Street to Kentucky Street) Project (CO1703).

* Material testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.

* Alliance Geotechnical Group submitted a response to RFQ 18-22 for miscellaneous geotechnical and materials testing services. They were one of five firms shortlisted by City Council on March 6, 2018.
* Alliance Geotechnical Group has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
* Alliance Geotechnical Group has submitted a proposal for their professional services in the amount of $46,485.00.

* Reimbursement for materials testing services provided will be made based on actual time and materials billing in an amount not to exceed the estimated proposal amount.
