RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This resolution authorizes the City Manager to amend the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) Project Agreement for state funding to extend the term of the agreement from June 30, 2018, to June 30, 2019.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* This dam, known locally as Brinkmann Ranch Lake, is located north of US 380 between Lake Forest Drive and Hardin Boulevard. It does not meet current safety standards. A failure of the dam would result in significant property damage and the potential loss of life.
* City Council approved the original TSSWCB Project Agreement for state funding at a meeting on January 3, 2017.
* City Council approved an amendment to add construction funding to the agreement at a meeting on August 15, 2017.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The estimated project cost is as follows:
Construction: $ 5,500,000
Land Rights Acquisition: $ 210,000
Contract Administration: $ 40,000
Total Cost: $ 5,750,000
* This is one of two grants for this project. By this grant, the state is providing 33.25% of the overall project cost.
* The other grant is also from the TSSWCB, however, it is for federal funding. By that grant the NRCS is providing 65% of the funding to the TSSWCB, which is passing that on to the City. The two grants combined will fund 98.25% of the overall project.
