BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

McKinney ISD provides bus service for students residing east of McDonald Street (SH 5) who attend Finch Elementary School.

McKinney ISD supports the removal of the reduced speed school zone and associated designated school crosswalk.  A letter of support from McKinney ISD is attached.

The reduced speed school zone is defined in Chapter 62 - Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Article V. - School Zones, Sec. 62-260(6) of the City of McKinney Code of Ordinances.  The designated school crosswalk is defined in Chapter 62 - Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Article V. - School Zones, Sec. 62-264.

The location of the reduced speed school zone and designated school crosswalk are shown on the attached exhibit.
