RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with DCBA Landscape Architecture, to provide landscape architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the Prestwyck Neighborhood Park project in a contract amount of $188,157.50 and not to exceed $200,000.00
• Scope of Services:
o Basic Services $166,725.00
o Surveying and Geo Technical Services $ 16,882.50
o Reimbursables $ 4,550.00
o Contingency $ 11,842.50
Total $200,000.00
• The services include design for various park amenities such as a splash pad, pavilion, multi-use court, landscaping and irrigation, trails, signage, etc.
• The development of the park will further be influenced and determined through a serious of public meetings that will be led by DCBA.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• DCBA was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on February 14, 2016.
• The land was acquired in satisfaction of parkland dedication for the Prestwyck subdivision earlier this year.
• This park is located within the Prestwyck subdivision which is generally located south of 380 and east of Coit Road. It is adjacent to a Prosper ISD elementary school (Hughes).
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Prestwyck Neighborhood Park Project (PK1643) is a FY17-18 Capital Improvements Program Project funded by Parkland Dedication Monies and MCDC funds in a total budget amount of $2,000,000.
• The Resolution will authorize a professional services contract for landscape architectural and engineering services, with DCBA Landscape Architecture in an amount not to exceed $200,000.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• The Park Board unanimously recommended approval of this item at their August 9th meeting.
