RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• No Action Required - Presentation by the North Texas Municipal Water District
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) will provide a presentation on a proposed new sewer main that would run primarily along the Wilson Creek corridor in McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The NTMWD’s 2015 Upper East Fork Interceptor System (UEFIS) evaluation identified the need for additional capacity to transfer flows from Western McKinney and Prosper to the Wilson Creek Lift Station.
• The proposed pipeline is sized to meet the build-out projections for the cities to avoid additional future pipeline construction through the challenging corridor bounded by other utilities, parks, creeks, and developed areas.
• The proposed pipeline would provide approximately 33,600 linear feet of limited-access interceptor, odor control facilities, and associated appurtenances to convey flow from a node on the McKinney-Prosper Interceptor south of U.S. Highway 380 to the Wilson Creek Lift Station.
• The NTMWD anticipates a probable construction cost of approximately $31,000,000.
