RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approve Resolution to redirect $10,477 in unspent funds from FY18 Arts Commission budget to the FY18 Public Art Fund balance

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     In FY18, the City Council allocated $200,000 to the McKinney Arts Commission to further the Arts Commission mission “to create a vibrant and viable arts community in which diverse, high quality arts opportunities are available to McKinney residents and visitors.”

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     City Council approved Resolution 2013-11-107(R) which stated “that any unspent funds allocated annually to the Arts Commission for support of the Arts in McKinney may be redirected to the Public Art Fund”

                     The Public Art fund current balance is $67,218 but will be $36,945 after current Public Art Projects are completed

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     There are $10,477 in unspent FY18 Arts Commission funds that may be redirected to the Public Art Fund, with City Council approval.
