RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approve Resolution to redirect $10,477 in unspent funds from FY18 Arts Commission budget to the FY18 Public Art Fund balance
ITEM SUMMARY:
• In FY18, the City Council allocated $200,000 to the McKinney Arts Commission to further the Arts Commission mission “to create a vibrant and viable arts community in which diverse, high quality arts opportunities are available to McKinney residents and visitors.”
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• City Council approved Resolution 2013-11-107(R) which stated “that any unspent funds allocated annually to the Arts Commission for support of the Arts in McKinney may be redirected to the Public Art Fund”
• The Public Art fund current balance is $67,218 but will be $36,945 after current Public Art Projects are completed
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• There are $10,477 in unspent FY18 Arts Commission funds that may be redirected to the Public Art Fund, with City Council approval.
