RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
* Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* The 2017 Master Plan identified Cottonwood Park as one that was in need of redevelopment and/or upgrades.
* It currently has a baseball field, playground equipment, pavilion, open space and small parking lot. The park is outdated and in need of refurbishment.
* During the master planning process, which consisted of a public input meeting, online survey, and planning boards placed throughout our recreation centers, a master plan was developed that provides the park with updated amenities and infrastructure, which includes:
o Water fountain/splash pad feature
o Walking paths
o Pavilion
o Basketball court
o Parking
o New playground equipment
o Landscaping
* Kimley-Horn recently completed the master plan update for this park, which is attached. Based upon their master plan design and quality of work, they were requested to provide design and construction administration service...
