RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $87,750, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Halff Associates, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the design of traffic signals and associated intersection improvements for the intersections of Stacy Road at Collin McKinney Parkway and Lake Forest Drive at Collin McKinney Parkway, for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $100,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The intersections of Stacy Road at Collin McKinney Parkway and Lake Forest Drive at Collin McKinney Parkway have been identified and recommended for installation of traffic signals by City of McKinney Transportation Engineering.
* The installation of traffic signals at these locations will necessitate minor intersection improvements such as installation of new pedestrian ramps, modifications to curb lines and/or median noses, and other miscellaneous items.
* Halff Associates, Inc. submitted a response to 2018-02RFQ for traffic engineering services. They were one of three firms shortlisted in the traffic signal design category by City Council on January 16, 2018.
* Construction of this project is estimated to cost a total of approximately $850,000.
