COUNCIL GOAL:                     Enhance the Quality of Life in McKinney

(5A: Create affordable recreational and cultural arts activities for all ages throughout the city)

(5C: Continue to market and highlight McKinney as a unique destination for residents and visitors alike)

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This presentation will highlight three (3) community partner groups that work with the Parks & Recreation Department to enhance our parks system, trails and open space areas. These groups include: Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney, the McKinney Garden Club, and the McKinney Parks Foundation.  

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The 2017 Master Plan calls for identifying and growing partnerships with various organizations, non-profits in particular, to enhance our parks and recreation offerings and operations.

                     A representative from each of the groups will make a short presentation that will speak to the history and mission of their respective organizations and how they work to improve our community.

                     The purpose of this item is to acknowledge and celebrate past and ongoing efforts, as well as identify additional opportunities to strengthen our relationships going forward.
