RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $65,290, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Othon, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the design of traffic signals and associated intersection improvements for the intersection of Alma Road at Henneman Way and for the design of a pedestrian hybrid beacon at the proposed trail crossing of Alma Road north of Henneman Way, for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $80,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The intersection of Alma Road at Henneman Way has been identified and recommended for installation of a traffic signal by City of McKinney Transportation Engineering.
* The installation of a traffic signal at this location will necessitate minor intersection improvements such as installation of new pedestrian ramps, modifications to curb lines and/or median noses, and other miscellaneous items.
* A proposed hike and bike trail will be constructed by a Developer in conjunction with the Parks Department under separate contract. The trail is currently under design and construction is anticipated to begin ...
