ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Black History of McKinney presented a Black History Celebration on February 23 and 24, 2019. 

                     On February 24, a video documentary was shown at a community-wide event at Faubion Middle School.  The documentary captured stories and historical records that can be used in the future to educate, honor, and enrich.

                     The documentary was a 20 minute piece with an additional six supporting video clips.

                     The total number of attendees was 650.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Outreach Grants provide financial assistance for the costs associated with a single project, or if the applicant is applying for the first time.

                     Outreach Grants can pay up to 50% of eligible project expenses, not to exceed $3,000.

                     An Outreach Grant of $3,000 was approved for this project by the McKinney Arts Commission at its regular meeting on January 17, 2019.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Outreach Grant funds will be used to defray costs of the video production.

                     Pending approval of the Final Report, the reimbursement will come from Outreach Grant funds.
