RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a supplemental agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc. to provide additional materials testing services for the Virginia Parkway Lanes 5 & 6 Project from Ridge Road to US 75 for an increase in the not to exceed fee from $200,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $270,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Terracon Consultants, Inc. is currently under contract with the City for materials testing services related to the Virginia Parkway Lanes 5 & 6 Project from Ridge Road to US 75.
* The initial budget estimate was developed based on assumptions made of required testing to complete the project.
* As construction on the project has progressed, additional testing services have been requested due to an increased quantity of pavement replacement throughout the project corridor. Additionally, phasing of construction by the contractor has led to an increased quantity of testing needs. Terracon has only performed observation and testing when scheduled by the City.
* Terracon Consultants, Inc. submitted an estimate of $70,000 for these additional services to complete the required testing needs for the project.
