Recognition of McKinney Boyd High School Engineering Student’s Donation to the Hall Memorial Library
Summary
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Several years ago, multiple engineering students from McKinney Independent School District’s (MISD) Boyd High School organized to design, solicit donations, and build a living roof project. The project took on a life of its own largely due to the dedication and hard work of these students but ultimately, the project was not able to be completed prior to the students graduating.
• Even though the living roof project will not be realized, the students would like to donate approximately $17,000 in donations that they secured to help the City of McKinney to obtain the services of a landscape architect who will redesign the Hall Memorial Library’s courtyard.
• The City Council would like to recognize these students for their hard work and accept their donation to the Hall Memorial Library.
