• Discuss the City’s efforts to embrace “5G” wireless technology.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• “5G” wireless technology has the potential to be a disruptive technological advancement and will reshape a number of existing industries and will even create new industries. Early adoption of this new technology could position the City of McKinney for long term success in a number of these industries.
• Staff would like to discuss the technology with the City Council and would like to briefly discuss the steps we’re taking to ensure that we’re being proactive in our efforts to embrace this new technology.
