ITEM SUMMARY:
* The McKinney Community Development Corporation will consider/discuss/act on the project grant application submitted by The Salvation Army McKinney Corps Community Center in the amount of $33,917.90 to fund replacement of the gymnasium floor at the Salvation Army Community Center in McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* MCDC has allocated $1,364,926 to fund community projects eligible for consideration under sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code in FY 19.
* Support for community sports and fitness facilities is a strategic priority of the MCDC board of directors.
* The Salvation Army Community Center has been a part of the McKinney community for 18 years and is located at 600 Wilson Creek Parkway.
* The gymnasium at the Community Center is used for a variety of athletic activities and special events to support their youth sports programs, senior adult recreation and other programming.

* The current gymnasium floor has suffered extensive wear and tear and is in need of replacement in order to be suitable for the safe conduct of athletic activities.


* The amount requested represents 49% of the total cost for gymnasium floor replacement and approval will allow the project to move forward.
