RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Ordinance

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance will revise speed zones for Airport Drive from University Drive (US 380) to Old Mill Road.
* This Ordinance will revise the speed zone along Harry McKillop Boulevard between McDonald Street (SH 5) and Airport Road.
* This Ordinance will revise the speed zone along FM 546 between Airport Road and the east City Limit.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Two separate items for consideration at this City Council meeting will revise street names which are related to the existing speed zone definitions in the Code of Ordinances for both Airport Drive, Harry McKillop Boulevard, and FM 546.
* The current speed zones along Airport Drive are defined in Section 62-117 of the Code of Ordinances. Airport Drive, Zone 1 is currently defined as the segment of Airport Drive north of Industrial Boulevard, with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour. Airport Drive, Zone 2 is currently defined as the segment of Airport Drive between Industrial Boulevard and FM 546, with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour.
* The renaming of Country Lane as Airport Drive extends the physical limits of Airport Drive, Zone 2 to Harry McKillop Boulevard. This item codifies this modification.
* The existing boundary between Zone 1 and Zone 2 at Industrial Boulevard is unnecessary as the speed limit is the same in both zones. This item removes this boundary and combines the existing zones into a revised Zone 1, to extend between U...
