RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution to apply for, accept and implement the grant award of $100,000 to fund the enhancement of City of McKinney Light and Air Truck, to add the capability of supplying sufficient air to all firefighters in structures with Firefighter Air Replenishment System (FARS)

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The UASI program focus is to support state and local efforts to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events and to prepare the nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to our security.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The City of McKinney acquired the Light and Air Truck with a 2004 DHS SHSP grant.
* The FARS enhancement to the existing truck will allow firefighters to refill their air bottles at designated locations, thereby increasing the amount of time that firefighters can remain in the structure conducting response, search and rescue and recovery operations.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The amount of the grant request is $100,000 and there is no match required for this grant.
* FY20 Appropriations for this grant award will be budgeted in Grant Fund (Fund 033).
