RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $455,750, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the Accessibility Improvements (Eastside Phase 2) Project (ST1834), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $500,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The City developed an ADA Transition Plan Update in 2015 which identified areas were ADA improvements need to be made. The plan sets out an outline of how the City will upgrade the City's programs, policies, and facilities to meet ADA guidelines.
* For the public rights of way, a survey of all the barrier free ramps in the city was conducted.
* The plan focuses on making improvements to areas that are high pedestrian generators and have high pedestrian activity first.
* City staff has used a ranking system and identified several pedestrian routes in East McKinney that are in need of accessibility improvements. These routes were selected based on existing conditions of the sidewalk ramps, available right-of-way for the improvements, and close proximity to pedestrian generators.
