ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide consulting engineering services for the design of the Collin McKinney Parkway Project (ST1841) for an amount not to exceed $995,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The project will involve the design of the 4-lane divided minor arterial Collin McKinney Parkway from Lake Forest Drive to Hardin Boulevard. It will include the remaining westbound lanes (north side) as well as the proposed eastbound lanes (south side) of the roadway. In addition to the roadway expansion, the design will include median lighting along the length of the roadway.
* An eastbound bridge at Cottonwood Creek will be designed along with modifications to the existing westbound bridge. A 10-foot trail will also be added along the roadway and under the bridges.
* Traffic signals will be designed for the Lake Forest Drive and Hardin Boulevard intersections.
* Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. submitted a response to 18-45RFQ for On-call Roadway Design Services. They were one of twelve firms shortlisted by City Council on October 2, 2018.
* Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. submitted a proposal for this project in the amount of $865,200.
* The preliminary opinion of probable construction cost is approximately $7,500,000.
