RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes award of a contract, to be used on an as needed basis, with Hoffman Southwest Corporation DBA Professional Pipe Services for storm drain cleaning and inspection services.   

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City issued a request for proposal (19-47FP) for storm drain cleaning and inspection services.

o                     Advertised in the McKinney Courier Gazette

o                     Posted on McKinney TV

o                     657 matching eBid Supplier Notifications

                     Out of 657 supplier notifications, five (5) proposals were received on May 30, 2019.

                     An evaluation Committee comprised of staff from Public Works, reviewed and ranked the proposals based on the following criteria outlined in the solicitation:

o                     20 Points: Qualifications, Experience, and References

o                     30 Points: Proposed Product/Service Meets the Objectives of the Request

o                     50 Points: Total Proposed Price   

                     Of the five responses, the submittal with the lowest hourly rate did not provide any documentation substantiating the firm’s experience, references, or ability to meet the City’s objectives and was scored accordingly.

                     Based on the evaluation results, the Committee is recommending the award of contract to Hoffman Southwest Corporation DBA Professional Pipe Services.

                     Contract shall commence on date of award and continue for a one (1) year period with option to renew for two (2) additional one-year terms.
