BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Prosper Independent School District has constructed a new elementary school at the intersection of Bluestem Drive and Hidden Haven Drive.  The name of the new school is Furr Elementary School.

The locations of the proposed reduced speed school zones along Bluestem Drive and Hidden Haven Drive for Furr Elementary School are shown on the attached exhibit.

The crosswalks shown on the attached exhibit are the locations where adult crossing guards will be positioned in accordance with City of McKinney Engineering Department procedures.

The school zone time periods will be consistent with the Prosper ISD school schedule.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

Funds to install signage related to the school zones are available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department. It is noted that PISD paid for the procurement and installation of the school zone flashing beacons as part of the construction of the school.

Funds for the crossing guards are available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department.
