Summary

This is strictly a procedural matter required for the Municipal Court of Record due to the City Council’s recent enactment of the ordinance creating the statutory court.

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     Judge Roger Dickey and Judge Claire Petty currently serve as presiding judge and associate judge, respectively, and will continue to do so as a part of this procedural ordinance.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     At its June 18, 2019 meeting, the City Council passed an ordinance converting the City’s municipal court into a statutory municipal court of record.

                     State law requires that any judge serving at a municipal court of record be appointed by ordinance by the city’s governing body.
