ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Annual Budget and the 2019-2023 Capital Improvements Program by transferring $750,000 from the Airport Operating Fund balance to the Airport Construction Fund and appropriating the funds into Project AI2035, Extend Runway-Environmental Documentation, for an Environmental Assessment to support planning and preliminary design for a future runway extension project. TxDOT Aviation Division will manage the Environmental Assessment on behalf of the Airport.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Airport Master Plan recommends extending Runway 18/36 approximately 1,500 feet to accommodate future growth. It is necessary to accomplish an Environmental Assessment to understand the potential impacts of the runway extension and to develop a preferred alternative.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Annual Budget and the 2019-2023 Capital Improvements Program by transferring $750,000 from the Airport Operating Fund balance to the Airport Construction Fund and appropriating the funds into Project AI2035, Extend Runway-Environmental Documentation, for an Environmental Assessment.
• Total Project costs are estimated not to exceed $750,000. The City will be responsible for 100% of the total project costs.
