RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

ITEM SUMMARY:
• This amendment will extend the existing Potable Water Pass Through and Pumping Agreement between the City of McKinney and Greater Texoma Utility Authority (GTUA) through September 30, 2020 with the option to continue extending it on a year by year basis up to two additional years.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On November 30, 2004 GTUA and the City entered into the original agreement. This agreement was amended on August 20, 2006 and May 17, 2016.
• The original agreement included the completion of the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) Delivery Point No. 4 in 2015. The delivery point and the associated transmission line have been delayed; the new proposed finish date is in 2020.
• The agreement will terminate on September 30, 2020, or when the NTMWD delivery point is complete whichever is first. There is an option to continue the agreement if all parties are in agreement.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• GTUA’s water rate will not be changed.
