RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the Recommendation.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

 

                     The master plan will provide a framework for needed improvements to the soccer complex.  The plan will focus on parking, circulation, field improvements, enhanced landscaping, additional restrooms, pedestrian connectivity, park amenities (playgrounds, splash pad, etc.), signage and auxiliary structures.

 

                     Also included in this scope is the design of a maintenance and storage shed with potential restrooms. 

 

                     This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with DCBA Landscape Architecture to provide landscape architectural and engineering services related to the master planning of the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch in a contract amount of $64,335 and not to exceed $67,000.

 

                     Scope of Services:

o                     Basic Master Plan Services                                                               $ 64,335.00

o                     Contingency                                                                                                                              $   2,665.00

Total                                                                                                                                                   $ 67,000.00

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     DCBA was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.

 

                     The 65 acre soccer complex was constructed in 2005 and includes 13 lit fields (one championship field), 900 parking spaces, concession building with restrooms and an irrigation pond.  ol

 

                     McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch is located at 6372 Collin McKinney Parkway.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     This project (PK1906) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by Parkland Dedication Funds Zone 4 in an amount of $2,000,000.

 

                     Upon approval of this resolution, the remaining balance in this project will be $1,933,000.

 

                     The Resolution will authorize a professional services contract for landscape architectural and engineering services, with DCBA Landscape Architecture, Inc. in an amount of $64,335.
