RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:

                     Approve Ordinance Amendment

ITEM SUMMARY:

The Ordinance Amends the Airport Minimum Standards to clarify the City’s intent, as airport sponsor, owner and operator, to exercise its proprietary exclusive right to sell all aviation fuel products at the airport and to be the exclusive provider and operator of fuel farms at the airport.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Federal Aviation Administration regulations allow and airport sponsor to provide any or all of the aeronautical services at its airport, and to be the exclusive provider of those services provided the sponsor engages in the aeronautical activities as a principal using its own employees and resources.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

Revenues from the retail sale of aviation fuels allow the airport to be financially self-sustaining.
