ITEM SUMMARY:
* The McKinney Community Development Corporation approved a project grant application submitted by The North Texas Family Health Foundation for costs related to horizontal infrastructure costs related to the construction of a Federally Qualified Health Center on Virginia Parkway in McKinney in May, 2019. An update on the project will be provided at the meeting.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* MCDC has allocated $1,364,926 to fund community projects eligible for consideration under sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code in FY 19.
* Support for community facilities to improve residents' quality of life, and amenities in east McKinney is a priority of the MCDC board of directors.
* The North Texas Family Health Foundation is a partnership to establish a permanent home for the Family Health Center at Virginia Parkway - a patient-centered facility to provide primary care services (medical, dental and behavioral) to families, children and individual residents of McKinney and Collin County regardless of financial situation or insurance coverage.
* The Family Health Center will also be a training site for educational engagements with Universities and the school District.

* The Family Health Center has been awarded designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center - which is considered to be a measure of excellence in primary care infrastructure.

* FQHC's serve predominately uninsured or medically underserved patients - but treats everyone. A model that focuses on Medicaid and Medicare patient...
