RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a contract with Professional Services Industries, Inc. (PSI) to provide materials testing services during the construction of the Bloomdale Road Extension Project (ST4227) and Redbud Pump Station Transmission Line (850PP) Phase 1 Project (WA4340), for an amount not to exceed $160,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* A concurrent item is included on the Council Agenda recommending award of a construction contract for the Bloomdale Road Extension Project (ST4227) and Redbud Pump Station Transmission Line (850PP) Phase 1 Project (WA4340).
* Material testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials and methods used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.
* PSI submitted a response to RFQ 18-22 for Miscellaneous Geotechnical and Material Testing services. They were one of five firms shortlisted by City Council on March 6, 2018.
* PSI has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
* PSI has submitted a proposal for their professional services in the amount of $141,624.00 ($128,249 for ST4227 and $13,375 for WA4340).
