                     Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:

This amendment will revise the proportionate contribution by the City of McKinney for the construction of Trinity Falls Parkway associated with additional construction costs associated with median and driveway improvements previously approved by the Engineering Department beyond the scope of the original construction documents.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On November 21, 2018, the McKinney Municipal Utility District (MUD) No. 1 of Collin County and the City entered into the original agreement associated with funding for the construction of Trinity Falls Parkway from Laud Howell Parkway to FM 543.

Construction along Trinity Falls Parkway has been underway as of February 2019.

The City has determined that additional access management improvements (median opening and driveways) are necessary to support the overall function and improve safety along the proposed divided roadway.

The additional improvements generally include construction of an additional median opening, modification to the design of an existing driveway, and construction of an additional driveway.

A proposed change order has been prepared by the contractor and reviewed by the City for these additional improvements.

The amendment will increase the City’s share of contribution for the improvements along Trinity Falls Parkway by the amount reflected in the change order.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The City participation amount for the Trinity Falls Parkway Link construction cost will be increased by $90,714.00 from $1,297,983.00 to $1,388,697.00.

Funding is available in Capital Improvements Project ST4422, Trinity Falls Parkway Lanes 3 & 4.

Upon execution of this amendment, $70,835 will remain in Capital Improvement Project ST4422.
